A Message of Hope
It’s now 10:46pm Wednesday night and I am at work. I’ve gone through the late show, fronted a news cut-in, and recorded my teases, all in between watching the Olympics of course! But earlier tonight, I was sitting at my desk thinking about what my next blog would be. A producer brought in her Oprah magazine and I decided to flip through the pages for a few minutes as we wait to do live television. Did I mention we go on at 1am? Anyways, a few pages in, I came across this quote from Zbigniew Herbert, A Life: “I know it’s hard to be reconciled not everything is exactly the way it ought to be but please turn around and step into the future leave memories behind enter the land of hope.“ There are some things in live we wish we could change, but we can’t. To live our best life we have to look forward not backwards.
I just wanted to share!

I wrote this Zbigniew Herbert quote down when I read it here in your blog. It sounds like it’ll be helpful. I collect these quotes from anywhere or anyone I can get them from.
It’s nice they’re showing an 11 PM newscast much later on after the Olympics. It’s as if NBC4 is trying to get to the news. They just have to wait until the games are over. 1 AM is better than nothing.
Hopefulness does seem to be an important part of getting through most health crises. It certainly played a major part in one I had about a year ago.

hi Amy,
I have tried to find the poem or book from where this quote came from, any idea?
