Ask Amy Questions
Hi everybody! I wanted to say thank you for all of your emails and questions and let you know I am working on them. I am busy calling hospitals and doctors and will hopefully have some answers for you in the next couple of days. As soon as I hear from the physicians I will post them! I have received a few emails from viewers that don’t want me to post their questions and that is absolutely not a problem (I respect your privacy), just let me know in your email. Thanks everyone!
P.S. I am hoping to blog later about the cloned pit bulls. More to come!

I would like to ask about menegitis(spelling?)vaccines. My son will be a freshman at Bowling Green S U. How much are they? How long is it good for? Are there any side effects? Can he get it at the campus Health Center?

Hi Amy,
Thank you for starting this, it’s very cool.
I prefer my personal info not be listed, however the subject could if need be to get answers.
I hope you can help in my journey to find answers; for I have been (what I feel) is the run around by doctors. I don’t want to bore you with a long story on what has been going on, but I do not know if there is a better way to tell you. So let me just hit the highlights and see if this makes since to you.
In late 2003 I had a surgery procedure called Nissen Fundoplaction. I had this procedure done in the way of laparoscopic V.S. the open procedure. I had some acid reflux, and a small hiatal herniation, (was repaired at the time of the procedure.)
This surgery takes the funds of the stomach and wraps it around the esophagus to help with acid backing up.
My Family doctor recommended me to a surgeon out of Mount Carmel East, in return I went and had this done. Due to me being young, he stated he did not want to see me taking medicine for this the rest of my life, so he recommended this surgery. After what I know now medicine is what I should have stayed with.
In 2006 I underwent another surgery to take this “wrap” down due to my non ability not being able to vomit, and burp. I found out I could not vomit after I eating some bad food, got food poisoning (had to vomit, but could not,) then had to go to the hospital, and get put on ani throw up medicine to calm this down. I can not drink anything carbonated, for I can not burp. The last surgeon (moved from Columbus to Fairfield County) was only able to take the original wrap down from a full (360) wrap to at half (180) wrap due to excuses scare tissue. The surgeon stated that the only way to get this totally taken down is by using the “open procedure”, for he also used the laparoscopic procedure to try this “takedown.”
I went back to this surgeon who tried to take this Fundoplaction down recently, and he ran me through so many tests, that showed nothing wrong with the wrap, gallbladder etc. The reason I went back was issues such as pain, severe bloating, and not feeling well at all.
Every time I brought the Fundoplaction up, he stepped around this like it was the next big virus. My family doc. Also wants to hear nothing about this.
I still suffer from the following. Can not burp to relive pressure, I have some much gas it’s embarrassing, I still can not vomit, there is a constant pain that no one can find out what is causing it, but never had it until this procedure was done. I could go on and on.
It might be better if I list web sites for you to check out and read, to see what I’m going through is not something that is far out there. I work full time; I’m a full time dad as well as a husband. I study marshal arts, and I do not want any hand out’s I just want to be fixed. I’m sure that there are people locally that could be found that have the very same issues.
Here are some of the web sites I have found.

Hi Amy,
I was wondering if you could forward me the information on the small
business health care story that you did with the owner of Marketblooms
yesterday (Tuesday).
Thanks so much,
Susan

I had the exact same symptoms! I could not even burp to relive pressure, I had lots of gas, and I could not vomit, there was also a constant pain! A local doctor told me about some herbs to boil and drink. After receiving this treatment for about 6 weeks, I started to see improvements!
