This website does a great job providing information to parents about autism and treatments in a way that makes it easier for us parents to understand. You can sign up and see forums going on around specific topics. I love the references to research articles as well. Enjoy!

Yesterday, a new bill that adds Pervasive Developmental Disorders, the group of disorders that includes the autism spectrum, into mental health insurance parity law was introduced into the Ohio Senate and House. Autism Speaks and the Autism Society Ohio Chapters are very busy in Ohio to help families have access to funding behavioral interventions for their loved ones. The bill language will soon be posted on the Autism Society of Ohio webpage http://www.autismohio.org/. Please note the underlined language is the added language for treatment services for autism. The bills intent is to provide individuals with an autism spectrum disorder access to ABA or applied behavior analysis which is a behavioral health treatment. This bill does not have a bill number attached to it yet. Please contact your legislators and send them this language. Thank them if they are a co-sponsor and if not ask them to support and co-sponsor the bill. Share your family’s story or share your experience working with individuals with autism. To locate your legislators please go to http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/. Please give them a quick email or call. We need as much noise as we can!
