Ride for Autism
Saturday Aug. 9
200 Cemetery Road in Canal Winchester
9am start time, 8am registration

It’s a bike ride, not a race, through Canal Winchester to support Angels With Autism-a great non-profit that assists Children’s and other autism centers.


The 2nd annual ALL ABOUT AUTISM car, motorcycle and truck show goes down Saturday, August 16th the Quaker Steak and Lube at Polaris.  Benefits Oakstone Academy.
The show begins at 3 p.m. Vehicle registration is $15 and begins at 11 a.m. The owners of the first 250 vehicles to be registered will receive T-shirts and other prizes.
Trophies will be awarded to the top five finishers in each category.
Live music, a silent auction, raffles and activities for children will be included.
In addition to the restaurant, the event is supported by Boyd’s Goodyear and Glassburn Body Shop.

NFL Football Camp
Sunday September 7th at Grove City High School
A football camp for children with autism will be held from 1-5 p.m. Accredited coaches include Pete Johnson, Ickey Woods, Dee Miller, Reggie Germany, Stanley Jackson, Mark Baker and Jason Louis. The camp is open to all children afflicted with autism, ages 5 and up. Cost is free. Deadline to register is Aug. 25. For more details call 614-805-3000 or 614-348-4483.
That camp is the day before, and coordinated with, my favorite event of the season.


OAD’s Outing for Autism
September 8th at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City
The golf outing is filled with well known local personalities… Craig Krenzel, John Cooper, Stanley Jackson, Mo Hall and Branden Joe just to name a handful of the former OSU players, along with reps from the BlueJackets and media personalities.  Please call Dave Stynchula at 614-348-4483 and do it fast as spots are running out. And tell Dave you want to play in my foresome, ‘cause I’m totally winning this year!

If you’ve never been to LEEDS PUMPKIN FARM in Ostrander, this event is FANTASTIC for kids.
the 2nd annual Autism Harvest Festival
Saturday Sept. 20 from 8-10am
Leeds Farm is at 8738 SR 36 in Ostrander.
It’s free to kids with autism and their immediate families, including grandparents.

Kids can go wild there—-from barnyard play to hayrides, corn maze, mountain slides, zip lines and thousands of pumpkins grown there on the farm!

Step by Step Academy in Worthington, OH will be holding an open house on Wednesday, August 13th from 2-7 pm. They are located at 445 East Dublin Granville Rd. Building G in Worthington. There will be tours of the facility, including the treatment area. Please come by and see what Step by Step has to offer.

The Walk Now for Autism Event is coming up on Sunday October 12th at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on The Ohio State University campus. Registration starts at 8 am and the walk begins at 10 am. It is a great way for the Columbus Community to get together and walk for something we are all passionate about. For more information visit their website at:

There is a comedy night at La Fogata in the Short North to benefit the Autism Speaks Columbus Walk. The show starts at 7pm on August 15th. There will be five comedians who have all performed at the Funny Bone. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Contact for pre-sale tickets. Seating is limited and tickets are going fast!
The owner of La Fogata, Jeff, has generously allowed us to use his space for free. Please consider coming early to have a great dinner and support/thank Jeff for his generosity!
