The BioMed Box
So we had to leave town over the weekend for a member of Sarah’s family passing away. Sarah and the boys took off Saturday morning, but I stayed behind, finishing some landscaping and waiting on “the box.“
The box was full of new medication for Brady, including a couple of meds that needed to be immediately refrigerated. Of course, it came shipped on dry ice, but we couldn’t leave town and leave the box on the porch for 3 days—that would be some serious cash wasted if the medicine was ineffective. We found out the box would not be shipped until Tuesday at the earliest, so I hit the road and asked a neighbor to look out for “the box.“
So what’s the point of all this? It’s definitely an important time in Brady’s therapy. Obviously he will not be starting all of these meds at once… he’s already begun some basic B-12 shots and other supplements that are mostly mixed in with juice. In the coming weeks he’ll start hyperbaric chamber treatments, and when all the doses are finally implemented, Brady will be taking some 20 doses a day of medicine. I’ve already spoken with several families on a similar plan, and nearly all of these families are finding some improvement in their children.
So Sarah’s taking care of the doses and following the schedule for introducing each new med. We’ll chart Brady’s progress here as we look for any changes.
