Elaborating With Ellie

Happy Monday…Where is the coffee?

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

We stayed close to home and spent the weekend with Caroline. It was a great “family weekend.“ Wasn’t it gorgeous outside?

We were busy with Halloween trick-or-treating on Friday night. Caroline was a monkey and loved it! I know I’ve told you this already, but she is soooo into Curious George, so the monkey costume was perfect. Saturday was too nice to stay inside, so we headed to the park and let Caroline run around. Then, we took a nice, long walk around our neighborhood and just soaked in the fresh air and gorgeous fall day. Like I said, we had a lovely family weekend together. Caroline is getting so big and silly.

So we’ve got an election tomorrow. It’s a big one….oh wait, it is likely the most important presidential election of our generation. Although, you never know what four years from now holds for us. Not to mention, there are many statewide and local issues on the ballot. I don’t care WHO you vote for (that’s your business, of course), just that you take a good, hard look at the issues, think about them, and then go and vote. Please. I am an especially patriotic person (don’t even get me going on the WW II generation) and truly feel it is our duty as Americans to be informed voters. That’s how I was raised, and that’s something I’ll definitely pass down to Caroline.  All I have to do is think of what Americans centuries before me went through to guarantee my right to vote, and I have absolutely no problem taking the time to cast my ballot. It’s important. I know you are all smart and truly care about our future, so…..Please Vote.

Just out of curiosity what do you think are the most important issues affecting our families? The economy? Taxes?  Education? Homeland Security? Health Care? I’d love to hear what you think is most important to our future.

Happy Monday!

Ellie

Political Views are a touchy subject, but I can honestly say that I am ready to vote tomorrow and really ready for the polictical ads to be off the tv.  I know that it is an important job to be president and big job at that, but I get worn out with people not being able to “play nice”.  Why do people have to bash everyone in order to win a race?  It just doesn’t make much sense to me.  We all know that the economy has to improve, actually the only thing it can do is to improve.  I personally think that the last thing we need is to have higher taxes when we are all struggling to make ends meet as it is.  Education is definitely an important issue and if our children don’t have that then they don’t have anything.  What presidential nominee can you trust?  Is there one particular person that has our country’s best interest at heart?  I personally feel as though you have to pick the lesser of the two evils.  Do I feel as though one is better then the other?  YES.  Do I agree with ones morals and values more then the others?  Most definitely YES!!  I am just not sure that there is a “perfect” fit out there for our country.

Hi Ellie,

Awesome question!  The economy tops my list.  Everything else on the list is fueled by the economy.  A good economy means low unemployment which means more people are working therefore paying taxes which pays for education, health care and homeland security.

If we don’t get a handle on this, what will the future bring for our kids?  This is why this election is like no other since I have been of age to vote.  I don’t care if I stand in line all day, my vote will be counted!

Take care,
Lori
