IT’S TIME TO CHAT…
First of all, thank goodness it is Friday. Ahhhh! I am so ready for the weekend. Aren’t you? It’s been a good week (oh wait—a great week!), but I am ready to kick back and hang out with my family. I love just hanging out with my daughter, playing with her puzzles and books, and lately she has really been loving her kitchen set. She loves to take the dishes and spoon and try to “feed” her dolls and stuffed animals. Caroline is quite the chef. :)
I am always very curious about what all of you think of First at 4. Especially you parents and grandparents out there. What stories would you like to see on First at 4? We try to have a strong balance of consumer, health, “good news,“ and lifestyle stories, along with the days headlines. My goal is that you feel like you’re on top of what’s going on in our community, but also learning something new—maybe a new product is on the market, or there’s a new “hot spot” in town, or a new treatment for migraines. Things like that are important to me, so I hope they matter to you, too. I also hope you really enjoy watching First at 4. I’ll be honest. Some days are more difficult than others, and we have to cover things in our community that we’d rather not, but we have to, because it’s our job. Yet, there are so many GOOD things going on in our community, that they need to be part of the news, too, and I hope you enjoy seeing those stories as much as I enjoy bringing them to you. It’s good laugh, isn’t it? :)
But I am curious. What’s on your mind? Is there something you would like to know more about? If there’s something you want to ask me—go ahead and shoot me an email. I’m an open book. If there’s a story you are curious about—let’s chat about it. Or if there’s a story you’d like to see on First at 4—let’s hear it.
Have a great weekend everybody. I’ve attached a pic of Caroline that makes me smile. I love those curls!

Being a WAHM, I would love to see stories on how other WAHM’s are able to juggle their business and their families.

Hi Ellie,
Let me first of all say that the picture of Caroline is beautiful. I am not sure about you, but I am so addicted to my son and my camera (lol). There was one day that I sat in my chair as he watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I took over 30 close-up pics just of his feet and hands. Yep, my addiction is pretty bad : )
I personally would love to hear stories on things to do around Ohio. Having a little one and also with the gas prices the way they are it tends to be difficult finding places to go or things to do that are reasonably priced that will also be great for you and your kids to enjoy. It would also be great to hear a story or two on infertility. Having our son through IVF has really shown me ALOT about infertilty. We went through many different procedures in order to finally make our dreams of becoming parents come true and personally I never thought that acheiving that goal of becoming pregnant would be so hard and difficult. It is unreal when you go into the fertility clinic just to find a ton of people all with infertility problems. It is really kinda sad that we all want children and if you think about it there will be some that will never be able to conceive. I was blessed with our little Cameron and for that I am so very thankful. Another aspect that you could touch base on is the insurance coverage and the mandates that go into play with infertilty coverage… there is basically NO coverage at all through state mandates here in Ohio and unless you have GREAT insurance coverage or money to boot then you probably won’t ever have that 1 chance that it could take to have that little bundle of joy!!
Just some thoughts…. have a great weekend Ellie.

I enjoyed the interview with the author of Ships Without a Shore (I think that’s the name?) on Friday. I’d enjoying hearing more of those - fiction, biography, advice, whatever. Maybe children’s books too? Local authors?
I’ve also been curious lately about how the smoking ban is being enforced. I feel like I still see people all the time smoking right outside the doors to business (isn’t it 30ft?). The ban doesn’t do any good if you have to walk past the smoke to get into anywhere.
I’m loving the stories and the question of the day too.
Kepp it up!
Emily :)

Oh yeah, the cute pic of Caroline made me think of another idea - what about a segment on taking better pictures of our kids! There’s definitely no substitue for a professional, but lots of us have digital cameras that have buttons that we’re clueless on how to use and would improve everyday pictures if we could utilize them! Simple lighting and staging tips would be fun to try out.

I like seeing what other parents out there are doing that are unique and different from what I’m doing. Elimination communication is something I’m interested in, but I don’t know anybody who does it. I’m starting to “wear” my daughter (http://www.thebabywearer.com), but don’t know anybody else who does this. I don’t know what all is out there, but I’m interested in hearing about tips and tricks from other parents and how they fit them into their daily life.
