The Momologues: The Original Comedy About Motherhood
I am so proud to be a part of The Momologues, but I’ll admit I’m really starting to get nervous. We hit the stage Friday and Saturday night for a staged reading of The Momologues: The Original Comedy About Motherhood. It is hilarious. There are 4 of us moms performing (I play the role of Charlotte) and I can barely keep a straight face during rehearsals. This lighthearted comedy shares the ups and downs of motherhood while providing POEM the opportunity to spotlight the prevalence of perinatal mood disorders including postpartum depression. POEM stands for Perinatal Outreach and Encouragement for Moms. They offer support groups, resources, physician referrals and a support call line to help moms who are struggling with postpartum depression. It’s serious business, and we are lucky to have the volunteers of POEM in our community.
If you are free this weekend and can attend, please do. We’d love to have you join in the laughs about our lives as moms.
