Hi Alex, it’s great to see a fellow history enthusiast using this site already! You might also be interested in these photos from an early Upper Arlington Fishing Club expedition along the Scioto River in 1918:

Norwester Magazine Cover (October 1918)

The accompanying story gives a clever account of their adventures—conversation topics during their trip even included speculation about how our country could “win the war” (World War I):

“The Fishing Club Outing”

The story and images above appeared in the October 1918 issue of the Norwester magazine, which was published monthly by the Upper Arlington Community from November 1917 through March 1922. Issues of the Norwester magazine were digitized by the Upper Arlington Public Library (issues were contributed by the UA Historical Society, the UA Library, and the GHMC Historical Society) and are available online at the UA Archives website. Enjoy!
