Dishin’ on Daytime
You all can probably relate to spring being busy, especially if you have children. It’s exam time, the last day of school, graduations, weddings, rehearsals, recitals, birthdays and anniversaries. And while I find myself buying more greeting cards and gifts, I love all the acitivity.
It’s also the time for spring cleaning. And if we have a party…that’s the time to go above and beyond for “event cleaning” at our house. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Sometimes it takes a graduation or big celebration at your home, to really make you get down and dirty and do some serious repairs and deep cleaning. My husbands goes all out in the yard and garden, planting flowers everywhere and laying new mulch. I use the excuse to convince my husband that we need to “update” some things in the house, and that usually means painting a room or new window treatments or even new pieces of furniture. My last child graduates in a couple of years. I wonder if I’ll get anything new again since I won’t have any more graduation parties!!
The other reason I like this time of year is…once the big clean up is done…it’s done. Since our window of nice weather is so short, I spend the time outdoors and play as much as possible. That means some dust bunnies will gather under the bed. Some weeds might gather among the flowers. Who cares? So give yourself permission to go enjoy….especially if you’ve had a year of “event cleaning”!!
