Dishin’ On Daytime
Just last night I spent a night on my front porch with a dear friend. Barb still lives in my home town of Toledo, so we don’t see each other as often as we’d like. We also have children and our lives don’t allow as much time to get together. Yet no matter how long it’s been since our last visit, we pick up exactly where we left off. And if I ever need anything, I know I can count on her. Isn’t that what friends are for?
My girls are now 20 and 17, and boys are a big part of their lives. So as their mom, I really want to make sure they understand the importance of their girl relationships, and never to forget their girlfriends for their boyfriends. We’ve all seen it. A good girlfriend finds a new boyfriend, and soon she looses touch with her girlfriends. Not cool. And really, everyone needs girlfriends who can accept you for who you are, friends to confide in (about that special guy) and friends to count on. So if there is a special person in your life that you haven’t connected with in awhile, don’t wait. Life’s too short to miss out on girlfriend fun.
