Local Puppy in “Puppy Bowl VI”

imageA dog from the Union County Humane Society in Marysville is going to be featured in “Puppy Bowl VI” on Super Bowl Sunday.  The show airs from 3pm - 5pm on Animal Planet.

Here’s a note from the shelter:

> Local Dog Competes on Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl
> > In early October we received an email at the shelter about the Puppy
> Bowl from the Animal Planet. The producers were reaching out
> nationwide and looking for shelter dogs that would be a specific age
> on October 25th when the filming would take place. It just so happened
> that we had three boxer/husky pups born at the shelter, as the
> pregnant mother was brought in by the Dog Warden giving birth in late
> August. The puppies had been in a foster home with their mother, but
> they were the perfect age so we submitted their pictures. One of the
> three dogs, Chamomile, has a tan and white coat with piercing blue
> eyes that stand out from a mile away. She was the one that was picked
> for the casting call and on October 24th I drove eight hours in the
> rain with Chamomile to Silver Spring Maryland for the filming. We were
> one
of three shelters to be picked out of Ohio and the only shelter from the Central Ohio region.
> Chamomile did a great job at the show and had a lot of fun, although
> she did receive a penalty for pooping on the 15 yard line. The
> American
Humane Association was onsite the entire time to ensure the animals were treated well.
To finish off the story with a happy ending, I really bonded with Chamomile on the trip, and upon
> returning home I got permission from my wife and we officially adopted
> her on October 27th. We renamed her Frankie and she became the fourth
> dog to enter our current pack. She gets a long great with the other
> three and our 2 1/2 yr old son and we can’t imagine our life without her!!
She is about 45 pounds now and six months old.
>   The Union County Humane Society is a private nonprofit organization
> with a mission of connecting people with animals and enriching lives.
> Each year we successfully place between 85%-90% of the 1,300 animals
> in our care as well as investigate hundreds of cases of animal cruelty
> and neglect. For more information about the UCHS please visit us at

My wife and I just watched Puppy Bowl VI and were amazed at how beautiful Chamomile is.  Those eyes are haunting!

It’s great to hear you were able to adopt her after spending the time traveling with her!  Hopefully you’ll share some pictures - never seen a boxer/husky mix like that before.
