Arts & Crafts Month: Recycled Windows DIY
I love this idea! See the instructions form Aubre Rice of Westeerville below:
I have attached some before and after pictures. How did I do it?
1. Get some good old windows (I found mine by driving around on trash day!).
2. Sand off some of the old peeling paint and sharp edges. I like to round the edges of the window frame.
3. Clean the glass really well.
4. Pick out what color you want to paint the frame (I use acrylic paint), and then get some pretty scrapbook paper to use as the backdrop for the photos.
5. Depending on the size of the windows, have your favorite pictures printed out to fit. I like to use 5x7 so they fill the space. Use spray adhesive to attach the picture to the scrapbook paper. Use CLEAR drying glue to attach the scrapbook paper to the window. Just use a small dot around the edges.
6. Cut a piece of foam board to fit the back of the window, use a power stapler to attach the foam board.
7. Attach a STRONG picture hanger to the back of the frame.
A big thanks to Aubre for the idea…Happy crafting!!
