Mixin' It Up With Monica

Pinterest, Where Have You Been All My Life?

First there was Facebook, and then there was twitter and now the almighty addictive website of them all… Pinterest! Not familiar? Here’s how it works…

You search for the things you love and then pin them on topical boards. You can create as many boards as you like and pin away.  You can decorate your dream home, plan for a Halloween costume, organize a wedding, map out a vacation and the list goes on and on.  You name it it’s there.

The company’s mission is to connect people through common interests and it is. You find that complete strangers have the most interesting ideas and so many similarities.
I have repined some amazing recipes, DIY projects and fall looks that I’m already using. Even easy step by step instructions for homemade doughnuts!

It’s also a great way to organize your favorite things, wants and needs…or in my case perceived needs. For instance the $335 dollar Rebecca Taylor dress that I am dying for might not be in my budget but I can call it my own by pinning it on my style board. And if I ever do come into the money to purchases I’ll have a picture and web information to find the beautiful frock. Genius

unfortunately, like with many good things, there is a dark side. The fact is its addicting. I can’t stop! And many of my fellow users here feel the same way. Even our web guru Denise has fallen victim to the Pinterest buzz. In fact as I was typing this blog she messaged me “omg I can’t stop pinning”. It’s even taking time away from Facebook, if you can imagine such a thing!

There’s only one answer to my Pinterest craving at this point… I have to stop blogging and start pinning!
