Kilroy Signs Pledge Against Corporate Corruption
COLUMBUS, Ohio—A rally was held Wednesday for Mary Jo Kilroy, the Democratic candidate for the 15th Congressional district.
Local members of MoveOn.org presented Kilroy with what they called a pledge against corporate corruption.
The pledge calls for overturning the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling, which blocked a ban on corporate political spending.
So far, more than 150 other politicians have signed the pledge.
“I came here today because I want you to sign this pledge—and I know you will—saying that you support the 98 percent of us who don’t have lobbyists,“ a participant said.
NBC 4 spoke with the campaign for Kilroy’s opponent, Republican Steve Stivers Wednesday.
Campaign leaders said Stivers has not been approached by MoveOn.org about the pledge.
