2009 Community Award Nominations Reminder

Each year at the Upper Arlington State of the City Address, a series of Community Awards are presented to individuals and groups who have made a significant contribution to our quality of life. The nomination deadline is Friday, January 8, 2010.
The 2009 Community Awards will be presented in the following categories:
Business – This award recognizes an Upper Arlington business that is actively involved in the community through support and participation in community service projects.
Community Enrichment – Presented to an individual or group that has spearheaded or is actively involved in a project or program that enhances the City’s quality of life, in areas that can include the arts, education, recreation, cultural diversity and enhancement of the natural environment.
Community Safety – Presented to an individual or group actively involved in programming to raise awareness of or improve the overall health and safety of members of the community.
Super Senior – An individual who continues to be actively involved in the community through volunteer service, taking a leadership or participatory role in community programs, and setting a shining example for others to follow.
Youth - Presented to a youth individual or group involved in volunteer service, or the participation in and development of community programs to benefit others, and setting an example to other members of Upper Arlington’s youth.

The City encourages you to show your support for those groups and individuals who make our community a better place to live and work. Watch for details of the 2010 State of the City Address, scheduled for Monday, January 25, 2010.
