Cabot Reviews The New Orleans Experience
We have a little time in the Dallas airport, so I wanted to say hello to Buckeye fans as we recount the game and the season. Jerod Smalley sat between Mindy (Buckeye fanatic) Drayer and me in the auxilliary press box for the title game. Poor guy ... we were not exactly mellow. In fact, Mindy lost her voice screaming and I tried to.
It was tough as the LSU fans cheered right in front of us, but later I reflect how wonderful it was for the Bucks and all of us to be there. I also must mention how many LSU fans thanked us for coming down ...
On Tuesday, I took a trip to the I-10 overpass over Canal street and it looked I had stepped into a third world country—300-400 people with hollow stares or sleeping under tents or on piles blankets. Many have been there since Katrina! There remains such incredible need in this area and it put the game in perspective for me.
I ran into a lot of viewers in New Orleans and really appreciated the kind words.
Look forward to getting back to Columbus! See ya soon.
