Deep Thoughts

Casting “The Office” from sports….

The world’s best boss, Michael Scott, once said “My heart soars with the Eagle’s nest...” So true.

I think it’s NBC’s best (some would argue, incorrectly, our only) show, and it’s back this week!  So to celebrate the return of “The Office” I’m re-casting the show, only choosing from figures in the sports world.

Cast List is as follows
Michael Scott=Isiaiah Thomas
Think about it.  Mostly incompetent at his job, apparently he offends people on the job, sometimes harrasses (remember, he lost a lawsuit for that). Yet despite it all, stays employed.  The hair doesn’t work, but that’s about it.

Jim Halpert=Roger Federer
Both guys can pretty much mail it in, and be ok.  They’re just better… shaggy hair also a plus.

Pam=Paula Creamer
young golf star makes sense here.  quiet, modest, generally pleasant, pretty… frustrated at times by her standing in her office/LPGA.  but wait, does this mean Paula Creamer’s in love with Roger Federer?  you heard it here first!

Dwight Schrute=Kirk Rambis
My friends and I growing up loved to make fun of the “bespectacled” Rambis, so it’s a natural he could pass as Dwight. Rambis was actually a decent player for the Lakers of the ‘80’s…

Stanley=Jim Bollman
true story--I don’t think i’ve ever seen the Buckeye offensive coordinator smile. And I believe both love pretzels.

Toby=Barry Bonds
one word: buzzkill.

Kevin=John Daly
pleasantly plump

Angela=Danica Patrick
eerily similar personalities.

I know there’s many more characters, but I’m tired so I’m quitting.  If you’ve got a good idea, email me with it and I’ll change the list!

No comments for you.

Is Kirk Rambis the even dorkier evil twin of Kurt Rambis?
