High School Gotta-Have-Em’s
My high school coach, Coach T as we called him, described certain moments in a game as “Gotta-Have-‘Em’s.“ It’s self explanatory, but no week of the high school season calls for more Gotta-Have-‘Ems than week #10. Among the teams who need victory Friday, and a load of help too!
Pickerington North: The Panthers have yet to make the playoffs and are fingernail close this year. At 6-3, they’re currently 121h in Region 3, so they need not only a win over Big Walnut Friday, they need a bunch of help (ie losses) from teams like Troy and Springfield.
Big Nut: Yup, sounds weird, but the Eagles have lost some head-scratchers this season and are currently 12th in Region 7, a spot behind the New Albany team which beat them a couple weeks ago.
Buckeye Valley: Call this a darn shame, but the Barons are 10th in their Region at 7-2, yet have merely a 1% chance of making the playoffs. Those kids deserved better.
Bishop Hartley: The Hawks need to beat rival Bishop Ready Friday, and still get help because that win would not earn them a heap of computer points.
Liberty Union: WHAT? They’re 8-1, yet 9th in their region. A win over West Jeff would cure their worries.
