My foot tour of New Orleans…
It’s a gameday ritual of mine… For every OSU game home and away, I go for a pregame run. I run 6 days a week, and take the time to clear my head and relax.
So this morning I headed out of our hotel and over toward the French Quarter. Keep in mind-it’s 9am local time. The streets are packed with fans (including the occasional Buckeye).
I took a left up toward Bourbon Street - which is not designed for runners btw - and ran into a bunch of Buckeye fans who cheered for me. I don’t know if they recognized me, but I was wearing my red Under Armour shirt. Maybe they were just cheering for the color. Who knows…
Then I headed over to the Superdome, where 10 hours before gametime LSU fans have mostly filled the RV lots with Winnebagos and old school buses and painted pickup trucks.
You can feel the excitement, and most importantly, the signifigance of this game to the fans and this city.
One final note, only one gameday this year did I not go for a run. That day - Nov. 10 against Illinois. So I’m undefeated and aiming to stay that way tonight.
