Waiting on the hall… OSU Hall of Fame
If everyone got in, it would be pointless… it would be the Hall of Very Good. OSU has lofty standards for its hall… here’s a list of some recent athletes who deserve induction, in my view, in the coming years.
Football--In
Troy Smith--Win the Heisman, you get in.
A.J. Hawk--I still think he’s the best college player at his position I’ve ever seen in person
Mike Nugent--best college kicker of his era
James Laurinaitis--a likely 3-time All-American gets it done
Beanie Wells--coming soon, a Heisman?
Maurice Clarett--Gotcha!!
Football--Not in
Ted Ginn--flashy, big play player… not great stats
Will Smith---very, very close… not amazing stats, but very good.
Nick Mangold---very close… great college player, and a great pro in New York
Mo Hall--he asked that I put him on the list (haha!!)…
Basketball--IN
Michael Redd--now a thriving pro and Olympian… no brainer
Greg Oden--don’t care about one and done, he was the best player in America in 2007
Mike Conley--see above, except he might’ve been the 2nd best player… maybe
Terence Dials---tremendous 4 year career, Big Ten player of the Year
Basketball-OUT
Jamar Butler--he actually won more games than any Buckeye in an up-and-down career
Women’s Basketball
Jessica Davenport--All-American Center
Jantel Lavender--should be an All-American by her career’s end
Baseball--IN
Nick Swisher---first Buckeye in awhile to make the bigs, and playing well
Dan DeLucia---a close one, but a fine OSU career on the mound
Hockey-IN
R.J. Umberger---the new Bluejacket gets in with ease
Wrestling
Tommy Rowlands, J Jaggers, Mike Pucillo--all National Champions
WHO ARE WE FORGETTING??? Let us know who’d get your vote!
Thanks
JEROD
