Who will win at Muirfield?
Two words: No Tiger.
Two more words: Kenny Perry.
Yep… the tour veteran and former Muirfield champion is my pick to click in Dublin this week. Why?
Two fold… 1st, Perry always plays well at Muirfield, even if you haven’t seen his name on any other leaderboard all year. The course is not exceptionally long, and Perry is considered one of the best iron players in golf. The players like to call it a “shotmakers” course. I have no idea what that means, but that’s Perry according to his peers.
2nd… Perry’s played well of late. Nearly won in Charlotte a few weeks back.
And I’ll give you one more reason… you should hear his bluegrass accent! It’s cool to hear a country boy that’s not John Daly take his more “regal” opponents to the woodshed. (Please, Kenny, leave your shirt on!)
Tiger, Adam Scott, Daly… they ain’t here. Who are you picking?
