Mikaela's Wake Up Call

Blogging:  It’s Just Like Anything Else

Blogging is a commitment.

Just like working out, you’re working out your mind and working out your words on the computer screen.

It’s easy to fall off the wagon.

I’m looking at this Wake Up Call blog that I have loved and enjoyed so much in the last couple of years.  And I see that the month of December and maybe November were very… shall we say “bare” for me?  Wow, I’ve not been a good blogger.

Yes, we’ll say “bare.”  Like Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tree not a lot of foliage.  I feel that’s a more forgiving state, potentially?

But I’m thinking that a few lovely ladies might inspire me and inspire you in the new year.  Maybe you’ll start a blog.  Maybe you’ll start updating yours again.  Or maybe you’ll just expand your mind by thinking about things other than the mess that’s sitting in your kitchen/bedroom/laundry room.

I’m working on a story for Thursday night on NBC 4 at 5:00 about Mommy Bloggers.  Wait.  Let me put it this way—I should say they happen to be mom’s who happen to blog.

They cover a variety of things from DIY home projects to incredibly lyrical prose.  I actually shot this story with these ladies a few months ago but given my usual stack of projects have only been able to bring it to you now.

I think that’s alright though, at the start of this new year we’re looking to make changes.  To be inspired.  To do something different.

Here’s their blogs and you’ll hear from them tonight:

When I sat down with these ladies they talked about how blogging helps you share a bit of your soul and presents who you are to the world.  It’s about community.  It’s really about friendship online.

I got on Twitter today and asked the ladies this question:

“I Want To Know: How do you stay committed to writing your blog all the time??“

@amyturnsharp said (and I love):  Dude. I am just full of it. I have reading + writing compulsion.
@MomofAli responded:  We’re ALL full of it!
@wenderly continued the thread:  Yes, full of it is right! I *think* in blog posts. It’s crazy.

And @racheltayse adds:  @MikaelaNBC4 I just have so many stories to share!

As you can tell, these ladies know how to laugh at themselves while they’re living life!

Don’t have time to blog?  Here’s an easy way to share a little bit of your world.
But be careful, it’s addicting!

I resolve in this new year to share some of my world with you in this Wake Up Call… and hope that you will share some of yours with me.
