Making Life Easier One Tool at a Time

The wise words of Ferris Bueller. Years before Ferris (or really Matthew Broderick) had children.
I wonder if he would change that quote up now, if he had the chance.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s wonderful to stop, look around, and smell the roses. But most weekdays I’m lucky enough to just cut the weeds and plant a few seeds. My husband and I both work in news, as many of you know, and our schedules with a toddler have been a bit… shall we say, hectic?
He’s responsible for feeding and clothing in the morning as well as bathing and brushing if needed. (Yes, himself and Logan!) I feel a little guilty that I’m not there to help out and am constantly trying to find ways to make things easier for them in the a.m. When you can cut a corner or two in the getting ready process, I feel like it just makes the world a better place to live in for the whole family.
My most recent find in the new year was a few over-the-door hangers for our closets. I think I picked these up for about $2.50 apiece in the Target dollar bins and they have been worth every penny. On Sundays, I get out Logan’s clothes for the week and my clothes for the week and hang them on one of the five spokes on the hanger. This is what I threw together this past Sunday. Sorry, didn’t have the time to iron Logan’s pants!
I don’t pick out Marcus’ clothes. I leave him to his own devices ;) But I did get him a hanger too. I always see a lot of hats on it.
It’s these simple little tools that make life easier and make me feel just a little more “together” during the week.
