Weather Watchers

Ben’s Weather Blog

After four weeks of below-normal temperatures generally, the pattern is flipping a bit favoring arctic air in the West and Plains states and milder air to the east. However, an east-west battle zone of contrasting air masses will set up (cold to the north, warm to the south) over the Ohio Valley keeping us damp much of the week. Most of the precipitation will be in liquid form, but occasionally some mixed precipitation is possible. Still, a White Christmas is not out of the question as colder air return in a big way late next weekend.

The rest depends on a combination of arctic air and a southern storm not tracking too far west—which, in turn, brings milder air north and a snow-to-rain scenario. Though too early to tell, our chances for some snow for the holiday are still in place. More as we get closer to Christmas.

The arctic air is definitely here. Temperatures on my personal weather station late last night was 53 F. In 12 hours, the temperature here in downtown Findlay has dropped to 27.1 F. The wind has picked up a lot at well.

Where are the level warnings for the roads. Some of our employers let us stay home or go in late depending on those.
