Weather Watchers

Climate Update

July will end about 2.5 degrees above normal making this the 5th consecutive month with above normal temperatures after the very cold winter.  Could be more sunspots this year than last as one partial reason for it.  We had 3 90 degree days in June and 9 in July for the total of 12 for the year.  We have had 7 tornadoes in May and 12 in June and 0 in July for a total of 19 for the year.

Warmer than normal weather will continue in August and I expcet us to get 6-10 more 90 degree days.

I suspect this prolonged warmer weather will see an evening out in the pattern as we work through the fall.
Weather does that.  So the hints at some sources of another colder winter are possible but I do not make that prediction until I see where the jet stream is lining up around Thanksgiving.  That is the repeating pattern then for the winter.

Yes, it gets hot in summer and cold in winter.

Sometimes it gets hotter than last summer. Sometimes it gets colder than last winter.

In winter, people want the hot weather.

In summer, people want the cold weather.

The solution is easy: Move to the southern hemisphere. It is warm in winter, and cold in summer there. Plus, the women glow and men thunder.
