Alum Creek low this year?
Tad Asked:
I want to know why Alum Creek Lake is so low this year. Seems like it should be at least 3 or 4 feet higher.
We Found:
We spoke to Loren Hart, Operations Manager for the Alum Creek State Park; he says yes, the lake is low right now. Due to some ramp projects last fall (late November, early December) the City of Columbus pumped water for the Hoover Dam’s supply. Hart says they are now waiting for the rain; however, the water is on its way up to winter pool. As of today, the water is at 884.3 feet, which is approximately 3.8’-4 feet below average. The water is coming up pretty decent and will continue with the coming rain this week.
